Somnath Ingole

Mr. Somnath Ingole is a Project Associate at the Centre for Society and Policy, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has been working on the project “DataKaveri”, which explores the technical, legal, organizational and economic barriers to the use and re-use of non-personal data.

Previously he was associated with Arthashastra Intelligence, Hyderabad as Economic Analyst and prior to that he was working with Policy Advocacy Research Centre, Mumbai as research scholar. While pursuing masters, he has interned in the data science domain at GreyAtom Academy and the Sparks Foundation besides he has contributed to the projects – “Environmental Status Report for Panvel Municipal Corporation 2020-21” and “Status Report of COVID-19 in Maharashtra” with faculty members of the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy, Mumbai.

He has obtained B.A. (Hons) in economics from Rajaram College, Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 2017 and M.A. in economics from the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy, University of Mumbai, Mumbai in 2021. His masters dissertation is titled on “Macroeconomic effects of Oil price shocks on Indian Economy”.

His area of interests includes Macroeconomics, Applied Econometrics, Labour Economics, Banking, Economic History, and Machine learning.
