Mr Rahul Patil

Project Associate,
Centre for Society and Policy, IISc

Mr. Rahul Patil is a Project Associate at the Centre for Society and Policy at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and jointly hosted at its Department of Management Studies and the Society for Innovation and Development. He investigates the domains of intellectual property management and law, sustainability, and data exchanges. He contributes to the research projects – Intellectual Property Models for Accelerating Sustainability Transitions (IPACST) funded by NORFACE and Belmont Forum; data economics and policy (DataKaveri) funded by Omidyar Network India.

Previously, Mr Patil practised a fellowship at the CSIR Unit for Research and Development of Information Products, Pune. He contributed to the projects – Intellectual Property Evaluation and Commercialisation (IPEC) and Informatics for Drug-repurposing and Rescue Discover (IDrRD). He pursued masters in medicinal chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, University of Pune, Pune, a post-graduate diploma in patinformatics from CSIR/Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, Pune and a post-graduate diploma in patent law from the Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad. He is a recipient of Prof M S Wadia Fellowship (2016) and Prof N S Narasimhan Fellowship (2015) of the Department of Chemistry, University of Pune, Pune. He was a fellow (2012-14) of the Budding Researchers Program at the North Maharashtra University funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
