Dr Parvathi Jayaprakash

Dr. Parvathi Jayaprakash is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre of Society and Policy at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She has received her PhD in the field of Management Information Systems from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. Her doctoral thesis is titled “Information and Communication Technologies for Sustainable Development: Effect of National Culture.” Her research publications have appeared in both national and international peer-reviewed journals. She has presented her research work at many international and national conferences.

She has also worked as an Assistant Professor at Jagdish Sheth School of Management in the area of Analytics and Digital Business. Her research areas of interest are primarily into ICT for Development, the effect of ICT on social initiatives, and Green ICT and Systems. Her project proposals on the use of ICT as a solution for social issues have secured awards from Wipro in their sustainability ideas initiatives for three consecutive years. She is a rank holder in Telecommunication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. Prior to her PhD, she has been associated with Tata Consultancy Services as a systems engineer.
